Michael H. Cao
Founder, Chairman
Mr. Cao earned a BA degree in international business from Eckerd College in 1995.  Mr. Cao had two years of experience as a founder and chief executive of an E-commerce company, from 1998-2000.  Mr. Cao is also the CEO and a founder of Liberty Consultant Group, Corp.  In March 2004, Mr.Cao founded Ultroid Technologies, Inc. and merged it with Vascular Technologies, Inc. becoming its chairman.

Chief Executive Officer, Director

Brent Willis is the Chief Executing Officer of Vascular Technologies Inc., and Ultroid Technologies Inc, a position he assumed in July 2008. From 2006 through 2008, Brent served as the CEO for Cott Corporation, the world’s largest retailer brand beverage company and fourth largest beverage company worldwide (NYSE/TSX: COT), with 21 wholly-owned manufacturing facilities, 200 bottling partners in over 65 countries and nearly 4,000 employees. Prior to Cott, Brent was the CCO and on the Board of Management of InBev (NYSE: INB.BR) and led the growth and transformation of Interbrew, a small Belgian brewer into InBev, the world’s largest beer company. He held numerous roles within InBev serving as CEO & President of InBev-Asia Pacific, CCO, Chief Marketing and Sales Officer, and member of the Board of Directors of AmBev (NYSE: ABV), and several subsidiary companies within the group. In 2005 and 2006 he split time between Shanghai, Brussels and Brazil and was responsible for driving the company’s performance in India, SE Asia, Autsralia/NZ, Korea, Japan and China, encompassing 33 manufacturing facilities, 16 joint ventures and 20,000 employees. In this role he led creation of the largest beer company in Asia, and completed the largest 100% owned acquisition in the history of China, the profits from which were deployed to build a new railroad system and hospital in the Fujian province. From 2002 through 2005, Brent was the Chief Commercial Officer for InBev and Chief Marketing and Sales Officer where he led numerous acquisitions, numerous turnarounds in key markets, and the expansion of InBev’s brands around the world.

In 2001, Brent spent a brief period as Chief Marketing Officer for a major retailer following five years with The Coca-Cola Company. From 1996 through 2001, Brent was a President for The Coca-Cola Company in Latin America, based in Mexico City and Caracas, Venezuela, and was the youngest President in the Coca-Cola’s Company’s 110-year history. Brent led his Division to the #2 ranking worldwide of all Coca-Cola Company operating units and achieved #1 in share growth, quality improvement and income growth. He also led the largest turnaround in Company history growing from 10% share in 1996 to 75% share by 2001, reversing more than 50 years of competitive leadership. From 1987 through 1996, Brent worked for Kraft Foods, Inc. At Kraft, he began his career in Brand Management managing a number of Kraft’s leading brands and also developed Kraft’s Category Management system, still the leading category management system in the industry 20 years later. While at Kraft he also became the Vice President of Marketing and Business Development-Asia Pacific in Hong Kong where he led numerous acquisitions across the region and launched the Kraft Brand in China. Following this, he became Vice President Marketing, in New York City, and then General Manager, based in Caracas Venezuela, where he became the global Chairman of the Lifesavers brand, President of the Latin American Manufacturing Network, in addition to leading his Company to the number one growth and profit performance of any food and beverage company in the country.

Prior to joining the corporate world, Brent served in the U.S. Army, departing with the rank of Captain. From 1986 through 1987, Brent was the Future Concepts Officer for a Combat Arms Branch at the Pentagon, Fort Bliss, Texas and White Sands missile range in New Mexico. In this role, he worked on the Strategic Defense Initiative (Star Wars) and numerous other compartmentalized (black ops) top secret programs. Brent led the development of all US Army Robotics Initiatives, Unmanned Aerial Vehicle surveillance initiatives, and all aerial recognition technologies. He published the counter-air concept to change the role of the Air Defense branch, and modeled the signatures of every man-made aerial object – from intercontinental ballistic missiles, to jet-fighters, to commercial airliners – a capability that was transferred to the Patriot Missile System that was used highly effectively to shoot down enemy SCUD missiles during the 1991 Persian Gulf War.

From 1982 through 1985 Brent served in various combat arms capacities around the world as part of the 1st Cavalry Division as a 2nd Lieutenant, 1st Lieutenant in the roles of Platoon Leader and Company Commander. During his military service, he received numerous awards, commendations and decorations to include two Meritorious Service Medals, the Army Commendation Medal, The Army Achievement Medal, and the Airborne Parachutist badge. Brent was honorably discharged in 1987.

Brent received his Bachelors of Science in Engineering from The United States Military Academy, West Point, NY. At West Point, he became one of the top 10 leaders at the Academy as a permanent member of the Corps of Cadet’s Brigade Staff in charge of all cadet activities. Brent also completed his Masters in Business Administration at the University of Chicago.

In addition to business activities, Brent has also been highly engaged in community service throughout his career. He has been a Young Life counselor, on the Board of Directors for several international schools, and has served on the boards for several public and non-profit entities including AmBev (NYSE: ABV), Zhujiang (China), and others. He has been a Proctor and Gamble Marketing University Professor and Guest Professor at several leading business schools. In 1997 he started the Alianza Social in Latin America, an organization that combined the efforts of government, church, and business to combat poverty and help underprivileged families. Under Brent’s leadership, his group donated thousands of how-to-read books to augment challenged education systems in several countries, created over 30,000 microempresas and jobs, and built adult education facilities, training facilities, and sports facilities in the slums of some of the most impoverished areas in Latin America. For his efforts he was awarded the Medal of Exemplary Service to the Nation by the President of Venezuela and was also personally commended by the Presidents of Colombia and Ecuador. His company in Latin America was awarded as one of the most admired companies throughout his tenure and he was selected as one of the Top 40 CEO’s in Latin America, Top 5 CEO’s in Venezuela (Business Week), and was voted an Outstanding Young Man of America.

Brent has been married to Lisa for 20 years and has 3 daughters, Alexandra - 18, Sasha - 14, and Caroline - 13. He is fluent in English, Spanish and Portuguese and conversant in French and Mandarin.

Gerald Spurgin (GSpurgin@ultroid.com)

Mr. Spurgin is an “AV Rated” lawyer and has been a member in good standing with the Florida Bar for over 22 years. He holds a B.A. from Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, a M.S. from Florida State University, and a J.D. from Cumberland School of Law. Mr. Spurgin has practiced with national law firms and has extensive experience in corporate and tort litigation representing numerous publicly traded and Fortune 500 companies in bio-medical device product liability, medical negligence liability, corporate litigation and commercial transactions while advising corporate management and board members on various issues.

Chief Financial Officer, Director
Mr. Knox is a certified public accountant in Florida and a certified valuation analyst. He has worked in public and private accounting for more than 15 years.  He is a member in good standing with the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts and the Tampa Bay Estate Planning Council. While in public accounting, Mr. Knox performed various accounting services (SEC filings, tax preparation, tax planning, business consulting, business valuation, and auditing.)

Daniel Norman, M.D
Medical Director, Medical Advisory Board
Dr. Norman has been practicing in South Lake Tahoe since 1980.  He is active in the local medical community as Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Nevada School of Medicine, Chief of Staff, Chairman of the Treatment and Surveillance Committee and Director of Gastroenterology at Barton Memorial Hospital.  Board certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology, Dr. Norman is a frequent contributor to professional journals authoring numerous scientific papers in his associated fields.


David H. Shapiro, M.D.

Medical Advisory Board
Dr. Shapiro is a graduate of Tufts University, School of Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts, trained in general surgery at Yale New Haven Hospital and has been board certified in general surgery since 1972. He currently serves as an associate professor of surgery at the University of South Florida’s College of Medicine. He is a member of Tampa General Hospital’s Division of Trauma in the Department of Surgery and one of the directors of the Regional Trauma Center, Tampa General Hospital.


Elmer Smith
Member of the Board of Advisors
Mr. Smith was the Yellow Pages association chairman for 2003-2004.  As chairman of the Yellow Pages, Mr. Smith was responsible for over 9,000 employees. Further, as group president of the Advertising and Publishing division for BellSouth Corporation--The Advertising & Publishing Group consisting of BellSouth Advertising & Publishing Corporation--Mr. Smith was responsible for the marketing and publishing of The Real White and Yellow Pages®; The Berry Company; Stevens Graphics; and IntelliVentures, the internet company that produced the Real Pages.com, the company's online counterpart to The Real Pages.  Through his leadership, Mr. Smith was instrumental in the joint acquisition of YellowPages.com by BellSouth and AT&T. Prior to his involvement with Bell South, Mr. Smith was president and CEO of The Berry Company, the largest Yellow Pages advertising sales agency in the United States.  In 1986, BellSouth acquired the Berry Company.  Smith had a distinguished 40-year career with Berry and BellSouth retiring in 2005.


Robert L. Ulrich, Esq.
Member of the Board of Advisors
(Former) Mayor Ulrich is a lawyer in private practice in St. Petersburg, FL.  A graduate of Duke University, he received his law degree from Stetson University.  Mr. Ulrich is a former pilot in the US. Air Force, and two-term, St. Petersburg Mayor. He has volunteered in advisory positions with the St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce, St. Petersburg Progress, The Salvador Dali Museum, YMCA/YWCA and has served as president and chairman of The Gulf Coast Symphony Orchestra, (now The Florida Orchestra). His business success includes founding The Bank of Florida, and various real estate  developments.

David Mulvaney, M.D.(DMulvaney@ultroid.com)
Director of Medical Affairs
David J. Mulvaney, M.D. has been involved with Ultroid Technologies, Inc. since 2006 as a medical advisor and currently serves as Medical Affairs Director. He is responsible for overseeing medical research, data acquisition, and the medical publication process. Dr. Mulvaney conducts the UltroidR physician education and clinical training programs. He is a graduate of the University Of Alabama School Of Medicine in Birmingham, Alabama. He trained in general surgery in Macon, Georgia and thoracic surgery in Miami, Florida. He was board certified in general surgery in 1997 and thoracic surgery in 2000. He has practiced general and thoracic surgery, as well as emergency medicine, in Florida since 2003. Dr. Mulvaney was involved in immunobiology research at the U.A.B. School of Medicine and Institute Pasteur in Paris, France for a total of 4 years. He published a sentinel article on B cell development in Nature in 1986 after his work in Paris.

Kent Phan, Chief of Sales for Ultroid, has over 15 years of sales leadership, management, and consulting experience in diverse industry sectors, generating revenues and implementing solutions for clients. Prior to joining Ultroid, he was vice president for financial services at GE Healthcare where he developed customized financial solutions for medical equipment in radiology and other hospital revenue centers. He won major customer accounts, amid increasingly challenging competitive and regulatory conditions, for equipment, financial services and services sales, including deals that were among the largest in GE Healthcare’s portfolio and that were consistently among the largest in the southeast US region. At GE, he also had extensive experience in the transportation and energy sectors in producing sales and custom designing optimal production solutions for industrial clients with complex problems and needs. His abilities were recognized by having served in the renowned GE Six Sigma quality program, famous for its rigorous approach to quality enhancement in systems and products. As a management consultant with Booz & Company, he collaborated with top-ranked clients on driving operational strategies and business process reengineering. Kent is a graduate of the GE management training program and is a certified Six Sigma black belt. He earned an MBA from the University of Chicago’s graduate school of business, specializing in finance and marketing, and a BS in mechanical engineering from the University of Florida.
