Dr. Allison Karolak has been named Medical Director of Ultroid Technologies, Inc., a fast-growing U.S. medical device company, and its parent company, Vascular Technologies, Inc., owner of Ultroid.

In Good Company

Dr. Karolak represents the latest addition to our team of professionals. She brings a unique perspective to our company as both a physician and a patient. Dr. Karolak is, and will always remain, a patient advocate. As a family physician, she touched the lives of many with her profound caring and exceptional clinical skills but felt compelled to bring relief to patients on a national scale. Dr. Karolak is passionate about her quest to assist in relieving millions of patients from the burden of hemorrhoidal disease. As a mother of two small children, she suffered silently for years without treatment of internal hemorrhoids due to the lack of desirable treatment options. Then, Dr. Karolak discovered Ultroid. It changed her life and ignited a desire and sense of responsibility to get the word out to both physicians and patients that finally there is an effective, painless treatment for internal hemorrhoids.
Dr. Karolak is a proud graduate of the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey-School of Osteopathic Medicine. She deeply believes in the principle of treating each and every patient with a holistic approach, understanding that not only are they affected physically by their illnesses but psychologically and socially as well. Dr. Karolak completed her internship at Union Hospital, an affiliate of the Saint Barnabas Health System and her Family Medicine residency at Christ Hospital in Jersey City, New Jersey. She is board certified in Family Practice and Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment. Dr. Karolak is a proud member of the American Osteopathic Association and the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians.

Positive Outlook
“It is a win-win-win-win situation, really no one loses,” declares Dr. Karolak, “The patient gets a painless treatment, the doctor has an attractive treatment option, he gets paid, and it’s cheaper than the other modalities for the insurance companies. I was fascinated for several reasons.”

Vision and Agenda
Dr. Karolak shares her vision and agenda, “My top three priorities are clinical research, training for everyone who touches Ultroid and awareness of our product for both doctors and patients.” Karolak details her plan, “It is my goal to recruit physicians across the country to participate in randomized, multi-center, prospective studies comparing the Ultroid® Hemorrhoid Management System with the other treatment modalities.” Dr. Karolak plans on educating within the company as well, “I will be working with our staff at every level and with our distributors and their representatives, to educate them with the facts about our product. I plan to design and implement training manuals for each department of our company with the facts about Ultroid that are applicable to their job.”

Changing Medicine

“We believe that through education,” explains Dr. Karolak, “we can change the public’s perception of hemorrhoids as a taboo subject that affects individuals in the privacy of their bathrooms in to a disease that affects millions on a daily ongoing basis.” Dr. Karolak stresses, “It’s time to talk about it because now there is something to do about it. U2 can change your life!”
